Hawk mini DLG

Recommended Posts

I have - at last! - built and flown the Hawk mini DLG I was so kindly given at the 2018 F3K Eurotour. I want to thank everyone again, I still feel a bit guilty because I choked up and couldn't talk anymore - or couldn't without bursting in to tears.

I made a small alteration from the standard build and put the tail plane on top of the fuselage ' as normal'. I sanded the pylon down a little to suit the flatter shape of the underneath of the tail plane. 4 x SD100s do the movement of surfaces, a 550mAh Blade 120SR single Lipo powers them along with a Jeti R4 Rx. About 8g of lead was required to balance the model which weighs in at 145g. The Hawk mini DLG is available from Neil H at SuperFly and other places too no doubt. Servos and battery from Stan Yeo at Phoenix Model Products

I followed this RCGroups build thread for guidance - https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2952429-Hawk-1m-DLG-from-HQ-models-_-Nikolay-Gorban
These threads have useful DLG info in them too - https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?1441098-Initial-programming-of-a-DLG - GT (Gerald Taylor) knows his stuff with regard to DLGs
So does Reto - https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2240063-Flaperon-Linkage-with-maximum-mechanical-advantage
