Rediscovering my Slope MoJo

Recommended Posts

Dean0

Hi All!

The call of the slopes is far too strong - after 20 or so years flying power I feel the need to venture back to the hills again so thought I'd come along here and say Hi!

Welcome Dean0

You will find all the information, support and help you need here and I am sure more than enough guys to go flying with.

I currently fly F5J and eSoar, but am looking to try slope and am awaiting the delivery of my first slope model, an SAS WildThing. 🙂

Good luck with the hobby and again welcome to the site.

Kind regards

Eamon

Welcome Dean0 :)

You're in good company here if you are wanting to go back onto the slopes!

By the way, you did say back to the hills again though so I presume you've done it before...
It'll come back to you. The models might have evolved but the flying basics haven't changed :D

Thank you - I did take a drive and walk to Ivinghoe last Saturday as it is potentially my local real slope, I didn't take a model with me , I just wanted to remind myself of the hill, I'm off work next week so hopefully will get some flying in, weather dependant of course!

I do have some old school models to fly, I have flown all 3 recently so they are all ready to go!

Graupner Swift - around 2.2M, flys ok but could do with some ballast for the slope

Protech Slopemaster  - um...well its ok!

Solent Sailplanes Mini Racer - Great!! love it

Hi DeanO

Good to hear from you

Next time, please use the PM system and then we can then swap e-mail addresses with total confidence:)

You threw me when I saw your location was Oundle!  Still, glad that's settled

I don't want to tempt fate, but the forecast says we'll probably be swathed in high pressure weather from the weekend, so, hopefully we can get you flying with us on the Beacon  next week. If you haven't got a plane usable for the day we arrange, I'll be happy to lend you an "oldie but goodie" to get back into some proper slope soaring on a "proper" hill........

Regards

Pete
