Eamon
I am not sure if anyone will be interested, but I recently put together a new “Hard Case” for my Jeti DS24. The case it came with was ok, but I wanted something stronger and more secure from weather and transport issues. I looked at everything that was available and the cheapest I could find was the Hacker case at over £200, so I sourced an empty case from The Case Farm - The Dave Case 430, which came with the egg box foam in the lid, delivered for £43. The foam I have used currently is HD Foam from the Shadow Foam company. That was around £46 and was delivered within 5 days. It isn’t finished yet, I need to tidy up the cuts, but I am very happy with it. I have attached some pics below and the links to the sites. heli_bee
Very nice. I always like have the top of the tx towards the carry case handle. This means the tx is the correct way up when being carried. This is a hang over from when transmitters used to have fragile antennas.
Eamon
Just now, heli_bee said: Very nice. I always like have the top of the tx towards the carry case handle. I orientated it to be in the correct position when the lid was open, as I often leave the TX in the case when setting up the model. No reason why that couldn’t be done, by either cutting the insert to accommodate the TX that way or in my case, simply rotating the insert through 180 degrees Thanks for that, am now curious if that is an issue on newer transmitters or just a throwback to the ‘old days’? when transmitters were less robust as you say. On the plus side the TX is completely buried in HD Foam and is held as solid as a rock, so doesn’t move at all. 20mm of HD foam in the base so very well protected throughout. regards Eamon
heli_bee
I believe it is a throw back to the days of flimsy antennas, especially the 2.4GHz ones.
