The English Open F3f Charity raffle ;- Over the duration of the competition, the Whitesheet RFC will be staging a Charity raffle to raise funds for the charities of Bloodwise , & Histio uk .  Last years raffle raised the excellent sum of £260.00.

Who are Bloodwise, & Histio UK ?

Bloodwise are the UK's blood cancer charity, they fund world class research into blood cancer. Additionally, they provide emotional & practical support to patients & their loved ones & raise awareness of blood cancer. They are there for everyone effected by blood cancer, whether its Lymphoma, Leukemia, Myloma or other blood disorder.

Blood cancer is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in the UK, each year it claims more lives than both breast & prostate cancer.

Blood cancer is the 5th most common cancer in the UK with over 230,000 people living with it in the UK. 38,000 people are diagnosed each year.

Please spare a few moments of your time to visit the Bloodwise website, and learn about all the important work this charity does ;-Bloodwise

Histio UK are the charity for the rare immune blood disorder Histiocytosis (HLH). This is a very serious rapidly progressive blood disorder that is very difficult to both diagnose & treat.

Similarly, to find out about the very important work that is done by Histio UK, here is the link to their website ;-  http://www.histiouk.org/

Why these two Charities ?

I am fundraising for these 2 charities in memory of my Son Tom. In november 2015 Tom died at aged just 26 from a combination of both Lymphoma & Histiocytosis (HLH).

English Open, additional slopes.

I am delighted to announce / confirm that In addition to the Whitesheet RFC slopes, I have again successfully secured permissions from both the land owner, & the sites controlling Paraglider & hang glider club, the exclusive use (should we require it due to wind direction) of the 'Rifle range' slope at Whitesheet.

RC flying is strictly NOT permitted at ANY time during the year on the 'Rifle range' other than on the dates for the staging of the English Open F3f competition.

The 'Rifle range' is an excellent due South round to SE facing slope.

Should we need to use the 'Rifle range' I will advise everyone with details regarding parking & access nearer the date of the competition.
