WANTED - V-Tail for Nan Xplorer

Recommended Posts

Eamon

Wixy has kindly donated an F3J Xplorer fuse to me, which has a v tail configuration.

Unfortunately he has not got the V-Tail fins themselves. He has given me a stab set, which I can adapt, but if there is anyone out there with the fins spare.....

Can anyone let me know if they have these?  Happy to pay a reasonable price.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Eamon,

It's worth trying Austin, he'll probably read this anyway.

I have a 3.5 M F3J Xplorer V-tail, I can take photos or measure the tails if it helps.

       Cheers

Cheers Gary.

That would be great.  Need the dimensions on the width if possible.  I have a shadow v tail, but the tail fins on the shadow are wider.

regards

Eamon

Is it an old V tail fuselage, can you take a picture if the tail mount on the fuselage?

Because aeromodelling is more important than breakfast here are some photos! I'll add measurements in the next post.

Okay, £750 for the pair and I will thrown in a fuselage and wings for free!

Span: 380 mm

Root chord: 82 mm (also the hinge line)

Elevator span: 335 mm

Elevator root chord: 50 mm

Elevator tip chord: 25 mm

If you get stuck you could make built up tails like the old Graphite has, might have a piccie of those.

Excellent.

Wixy gave me a pair of Stabs, which I can modify if necessary, beautiful layup, but I am not that great at building, so would prefer it if I could source a pair but if not will cut these ones 😞

If you have a picture that would be great, will need to cut new guid holes etc for the attachment 😞

I would be tempted to leave those stabs as they are, I'm not keen on cutting up nice things.

You could make solid balsa tails, I have a few gliders like that.

Try Mark Decal

I gave him the original electric version off this model ,but it was written off ?

Maybe the tails survived

I think predictive text caught his surname, most likely Mark Devall, known as Fozzie.

Is that £750 for the pair of elevators Gary?
