2nd hand market, in general

Recommended Posts

Darren_O

There's a new X10 Express out so you may get some cheaper X10 coming to second hand market shortly.

Regards the LS3, I gave one to my flying buddy last year. I'll see if he wants to part with it.

We have a few old Multiplex between us.

ASW20, ASH26, Twist, LS3, Kranich and even a very old new in box kit.

Hi Darren,

Yes please do ask if the LS 3 is available.

I might also be interested in the new in box kit.

Thanks very much for the info.

Saw him at a gig at Loughborough Uni around '78, think it was the time of the Earth band but not sure. Good gig though.

I’d like another Cularis.

Is that vintage now???

There's one for sale on the BMFA site. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by saying this?

Update, got a reply.

It's an unbuilt kit not an RR version :(

Hi SP

From bitter experience I can tell you that the fact that it is an unbuilt kit says it all!

The wing assembly on the Cularis is a real pain in the rear......ARTF it ain't! I certainly wouldn't want to do it again......also, IMHO that price is a teeny bit speculative for a kit that has been superseded by two ARTF versions, the Heron and the Solius..........strictly my opinion but you can always ignore my opinion as most of you already do:D

It's a very valid point, Pete!

I have made a Cularis in the past. I got the RR electric version but it wasn't anywhere near Receiver Ready. A lot of work still to do.

Plus when you've added the tips it won't go back in the box.

It did fly beautifully though. So much power and yet could glide like an Albatross and float like a paper bag. Such a special glider!

I'd have another if I found a second hand one prebuilt.

I'm tempted by the Heron but put off by the wing attachment  :(

I picked up a graupner junior electro plus a while ago for 60 odd quid on eBay. Not bad with the graupner power set. Does nearly 350 watts on 3s. Climb is good with about 3 minutes of full throttle to play with. This also included graupner spinner/hub and folding prop blades which are all high quality.

I just needed 4 micro servos which i already had. Seems to fly pretty well. Warmliner that can thermal. Worth a punt if you see one.

Hi Tom and SP

I must say I'm indebted to the bog standard Mark One Radian for many, many hours of soaring fun at my local little hill in Barnet

If you remove the inbuilt up elevator it's supplied with, (as per that nice Mr Naton's little vid) the Mark One is a VERY good light air/dead air soarer....assembly couldn't be quicker....just push the wings together, unlike the Mark Two with its fiddly screws, or the Pro with it's even fiddlier wing servo leads......perfick!

Having said that I'd also like a standard Mark 2E as well, to replace the one I've just worn out the motor on......I call it the Blue Smoke Special........if anyone out there's got one they'd like to pass on to me......:).....good price for a nice clean one:thumbsup:

Regards

Pete

My Radian doesn't have the props fitted. Got a belly hook instead!

I do mean to look at the decalage but it flies so well I don't want to mess it up :D

I've had a Junior for several years. It's a great model with plenty of performance from it's stock power system. It's a regular winner of our club's thermal/electric comp which is obviously due to the glider and not its owner. 😉

Cool. I was happy for 60 odd quid. Easy to build.
