An epic day's flying. Been a long while since the last contest.

Thanks to all that competed and especially to Mike and Tony for running it.

Congratulations David on the win, some inspired flying.

It must have been a great day for all of you :) I have noticed that Quentin and David P have never competed against each other.  Has Quentin flown his own models or has he borrowed some models from Mr. Neil Harrison for example :) ? Congratulations to David P for winning the competition. Congratulations to all of you for attending this event and making this competition.

Quentin was flying with one of Mike C's Vortex 3's.   I think he was taking it easy on us :)

Super hot day!   Quite challenging conditions - highlighted by the number of land outs.     1min 30 scored a 1000 points in little ladder - which highlighted a sky full of sink!

Many thanks to Mike and Tony for running the comp so smoothly.

Well spotted Marin - here's the reason that Quentin P and David P did not meet:-

The entries closed on Monday but BMFA rules allow late entry at the CD's discretion (at double fee).  I had to run the matrix on Thursday so that Tony could print the score sheets.  I put two spare pilots in but I gave them the same frequency so they would always be in separate slots.  If I had not done this, and no spare space was taken up, the matrix would have produced some rounds with both (absent) spares in one slot giving a slot with 4 and a slot with six.  We would not have had enough timekeepers.  David P confirmed his entry before 1800 on Saturday and Quentin entered on the day.

Thank you Mike. I have never thought about a possible technical side/issue. I have to install the necessary software and start playing with that time/score keeping program.

Tony Beckett

Apologies but on Sunday I misread Neil H's card for Round 2 Group B and gave him a max instead of 3:50.  After correcting my mistake it is  Michael S who gets the 1000 in that group. This causes slight alterations in overall scores and positions 7 and 8 have changed places.

See the original posting on Sunday for the .pdf files.
