Welsh Open F3F 2019 13th - 15th September

I can’t find a thread for the 25th Welsh Open here, so I thought I would start one. 

Since this competition is something of a landmark in British, European, and world F3F, I thought I would devote my November Slopeside column in the BMFA News to it. Among other things, I would like to see if I can put together a bit of a history of the event, using results, photos and reminiscences by surviving old stagers. I’ve only been to about a dozen Welsh Opens, so I have memory of what it was like at the start.

So, if you i) have got any photos of the early days;

                     ii) can suggest where I might find competition reports from those pre-internet days; or

                     iii) have any anecdotes to add a bit of spice to my article,

please let me know.

Yep, just checked, Stefans curry list is indeed on the Welsh Open F3f Facebook page, its a few posts down so just keep scrolling,  Stefans post dated 20th Feb

Hi All

I don't want to be seen as hijacking John's thread, but there appears to be no other Welsh Open thread on BARCS at the mo.

Just to remind flyers that the GBSRA AGM will be held at the Premier Inn Meeting Room  ( M4 Jct36  Services  ) on the 13th Sept.
Time to be decided depending upon the flying schedule.
As all entrants to any UK F3F competition qualify for membership of the Association you are all invited to attend

If you have opinion, or just want to know whats going on, come along for a chat and a friendly discussion about the year ahead

On Jose Luis recommendation we booked to stay at the The Wyndham Arms Hotel Bridgend.

Is anyone else also booked there?

Apparently parking is an issue, the best seems to be a 4 minute walk away in an open air carpark in Brewery Lane. It is pay and display, but if you speak to the car park attendant in the hut and tell him you are booked in the hotel and  you will get a voucher for a reduced price.
