Well done to the top three

Some very crossed and strange air around in today's comp.

Good decision to do a crow though and have two rounds each time, made life easier for everyone.

All so well done Bruce your Rotmilan was going great.

Well another Midlands Winter League completed, thanks to everyone for making it such an enjoyable time. And a big thanks especially to those who have travelled long distances to support us.

Now bring on the summer.

Well done to the top three, was an interesting day but I didn't find the wind too bad.

I'm sure we have flown in worse crossed than that. It seemed to straight up a bit but it was very bumpy.

Looking at the results it shows how difficult it is to predict the podium. Given sitting in the middle jotting down times I could have put money down that Bruce would be 2nd or 3rd. Tough luck buddy, you flew damn well and would have deserved it.

Was also good to fly the Quantum in its first comp. Its rather clear I'm a long way off having it where I want it, lol.

Well I enjoyed it 🤣

didn’t have much in the way of smooth air but it was always “interesting”.

Certainly it was a day for pushing hard, and hanging on . Nice to get the Pike going in it’s first comp, there was the odd moment when I thought it could be it’s last.

Easy to get rolled over or pushed down towards the edge as the conditions were constantly changing, but never boring .

Some videos from yesterday. Excuse the quality, I was testing out a new Mobius mini cam that I had velcro'ed to my cap.

Some more videos, sorry I didn't get most people flying but I was working the centre between flights.

Anyone have any ideas how to reduce the volume of the wind? Maybe fluff or fur over the mic?

Thanks again to Andy & Les for organising the Midland Winter League, but everyone did a bit to  help make things run smooth.

I called in to the Long Mynd on Friday afternoon to clock up another couple of hours with my  RTG Orden and felt settled enough to give my usual "go to" Pitbull 1 a rest in yesterday's competition.

I am very pleased with the way the Orden performed on the course, but in hindsight I was probably flying a bit lighter than optimum for the conditions.

There was a nice collection of current models on the hillside yesterday, Quantum's, Freestylers, Pike Precision 2, Pitbull 1's, but Bruce proved the Rotmilan is still no slouch.

Here's looking forward to the Champ of Champs at the end of the month👍
