Countryfile features Slope Soaring in Bucks this evening

Recommended Posts

Hi all

For those who have never been to, or flown at Ivinghoe Beacon, the BBC1 programme "Countrywatch" will be featuring slope flying there, this evening starting at 6PM

I think you can be fairly sure it will be a short piece of video but, you never know, it might provoke some interest in, what is, my local slope

Unfortunately I don't know when in the hour long programme it will be shown but, if you are interested in tiggywinkles, they too are being featured tonight, and they're a definite must watch, aren't they, no? :)

Regards

Pete

Nice piece, good PR exercise by Andy and his team.  Nice to get our hobby some visibility in light of the new legislation.

One of the slope soarers was my Shinto, not very nice weather on the day.

Nice to see some of the old footage from the 60's and a good interview with Jim Wright from the ISA.

David.

Hi all

....and, no sooner did Jim mention that Red Kites like to join in our hairybatics, and there was a mini-clip of them doing just that! Nice one!

Best bit of the day!  They where along the ridge when filming started but as soon as a couple of models launched they came straight across to join in. Awesome sight up close.

It was noticable in the early year shots, just how many flyers were there in those days. Good bit of PR, where was P B on the day?

Hi Andy

Thank goodness I didn't tell everyone about their favourite party trick.....when two kites fly  one at each wingtip of models....now that would have been spooky!

A lovely snapshot, of this wonderfully intriguing, and sometimes frustrating hobby of ours! Very well done to all the participants.

Ivinghoe Beacon was on the telly again this evening.

No less than the wonderful new Worzel Gummidge (played by Mackenzie Crook) and Green Man (Michael Palin) sit and have a conversation about the state of the country and how we are to make it better, on the site.
