  • 2011 BARCS Leagues Year End Report

    The 2011 BARCS Soaring Season came to an end on October 9th and the final league tables can be found in the appropriate class tabs.

    One again the weather affected many competitions, either resulting in postponement, cancellation or curtailment with just enough rounds flown to make them count. Despite this 90 individual members entered competition, recording 205 class entries. Congratulations to all the winners, you will be being contacted about trophy arrangements in due course.

    On behalf of all the competitors and BARCS we would like to offer a special vote of thanks to all the organisers and CD’s for their hard work and to the clubs who gave access to their fields.

    The All Rounder Tables are too large to be displayed on the website and are available to view or download here

      Nice early start Richard, well done. The weather here calmed off nicely yesterday afternoon as well, but unfortunately, I had other commitments, <sigh>

      F3K League Event: Fish Meadow, 5th October 2024

      I understand from Neil that Paul C is intending to come along if the comp is called "on" - so we have the required numbers (just!). Neil will be making the weather call later but it does seem to have improved since yesterday's forecast so don't make alternative plans yet!

      FXRES October 2024 F3L/F5L Monthly Duration Challenge

      Purito : F3L : 3rd October 2024 : 400 seconds - 6m 40secs Harden Moor - Time 13:00 to 17:15 - Easterly wind 8mph tapering off and ballast removed towards the end- Cumulus clouds everywhere apart from over me which lurked just big black ones, apart from when I first arrived but that was it. I didn't feel overly cold with my jacket on. First launch straight into a thermal that blew me down wind. I came back a little and picked up another that blew me down wind. I came back but into nothing. And that was that. So I flew F5J for a bit then ended the day with a few short Purito flights. Nice but not brill. I was hoping for a better day. I said that on my last outing. regards Richard
