Return to the Mynd
Hello Si, No, I've not flown it. In fact, I decided I had bitten off more than I could chew and moved it on to a friend who has added a turbine to it, on a detachable pod, so he can fly from our flat field. I'm not aware he's flown yet. No worries on the joiner, thanks.- Jerry Lunt replied to Jerry Lunt's topic in Other Soaring -

Swift S1 - 2.88m
a solid 20mm carbon bar is not that easy to find hence why a 20mm and 18mm glued together as the model comes with a carbon bar wrapped in kevlar but it bends even on just a bit of a pull and when i asked them they just said get a stainless one but its so so heavy , the Tomahawk Fox is 4.5m and that just has a carbon tube and its not very thick walled and the couple that mates have fly them very hard as they are electric as well and they haven't had ant issues . i was very surprised when i built one for a mate and it was just a carbon tube . will give them a try once i have cut them to length and glued them together- Big Si replied to Phil.Taylor's topic in Builders Workshop
