  2. For Sale – Amokka 1 Moulded Flying Wing from Peter Wick The Amokka is a fully moulded flying wing designed and produced by Peter Wick. It’s smooth and fast model to fly and tracks well even in strong or blustery conditions. The controls are progressive without needing to use large control throws. The Amokka is aerobatic and will happily withstand long dives and high speed passes without significant flex or twist. This model was made in Peter’s personal moulds and is not a commercial production model. The strength of the airframe is very good (as you will see from the attached links, the model can be used for lightDS). The paint and surface finish of the wing is not the same as commercial production model but this does not effect the flying performance and can’t be noticed if you are more than a few feet away from the model. Specification:- - Wing span: 1.96m - Wing area: 37.83dm2 - Wing section: Peter Wick (4 different sections across the wing) - Aspect ratio: 10.15 - Weight: around 1750g The model comes with:- - 2x MKS 6125 servos on the ailerons - 2x MKS 6100 on the flaps - 1x Jeti 2600mah Li-Ion battery - 1x Zepsus switch and regulator - Custom made bags for the wing and fin - Settings information All you need to do is fit your RX and fly. £400 ONO If you fly Jeti, I will happy send you my transmitter file I used to fly the model and am offering to include a Jeti R9 Receiver with the model for £40. It’s too hard to post. I’d be happy to meet at the Bwlch at a weekend or somewhere on the M4 corridor between London and Bristol during the week. Alternatively it may be possible to get the model to you via the F3F postal service. For more information please visit:- https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?940412-Amokka-Race-Plank/page5

    XPerience Pro Ballast

Hi Nigel When I used to find my ballast was slightly small, I used to wrap two pieces of electrical tape around each "slug" that usually worked, and cured the rattling at the same time Don't forget you'll probably need a couple of wooden dowels of "slug length" and another couple "half slug length" ones to use to keep the CG where it should be....... I used to measure the length/depth of my ballast tube with 3/8ths wooden dowels a half metre long I've had two Expro's over the years and never found the need to use ballast with either though. odd....... Hope this helps Regards Pete BARCS1702
  5. I did bring my camera but I was too busy basking in the sun, taking all the flying in and left without grabbing any pics. Was a brilliant weekend, gutted I didn't have plane or stayed for both days. Hopefully next year same weather same good times.
  6. What a great weekend! Thanks to MikeF for arranging. Thanks to Vincent and shady for coming and Neil for bringing him over I really enjoyed helping the newer flyers. There were two guys that I spent a fair bit of time with and in both cases the setups were quite a ways off where they should be. They required some fairly major adjustments in cg and launch and flap settings. I would suggest this is something we spend some time having a look at on an individual basis. It can make a world of difference!

    XPerience Pro Ballast

Hi Austin, Thanks for the information, stock bar comes as 16mm or 5/8in as I do not have a lathe to size the bar exactly only a Dremel to shape the ends, do you think that buying the 16mm bar would work OK? Can you tell me what length the slugs are when finished and how many the ballast tube will except? Thanks in advance Nigel

    XPerience Pro Ballast

I recently bought an XPerience Pro in immaculate condition but it did not have a ballast set with it. I set about trying to find a set to buy (it looks like Nan models no longer keep it) so decided I can make up a set myself. An Internet search suggests that Copper Bar is heavier than Brass so I can order a length to cut into slugs. The reason I am starting this post is would someone please measure the outside diameter of the standard set and tell me which size rod I need to buy, it is very difficult to accurately measure the ballast tube inside the fuz. I think it is 16mm but not 100% Would a size 1mm less in diameter be prudent so as not to get it stuck in the tube? Any help will be appreciated Many Thanks
