    6th 2019 2m Hi Start 14 day Challenge

Went out again last night. The weather pattern was identical to Monday. We live (and fly) on the Cheshire plain and I think that what is happening is that cold air moves in from the Pennines to the East early evening when its very calm - it went noticeably chilly again last night although the air was not quite as still. The result was that I got slightly better launches and correspondingly slightly longer flights but still not wonderful. Best was 2:15 but flights now averaging 2:00 but getting worse as the wind (what there was of it) dropped.

    Wanted mouldy glider

Hi Nic8 Could I suggest you change the description in your title, please, from mouldy to "mouldie"? I'm sure that would be helpful..... Regards Pete BARCS1702

Ok to tape up ailerons on a DLG?

Hi Marc !and SP" 100% differential! Several years ago I flew a very old aileron/elevator jobbie at Ivinghoe and was not very happy about it's roll/turn performance so I landed it to increase the throw on one aileron, only to find that one aileron pushrod had become detached in flight(!) I'd been flying the thing with only one aileron......it was a bit soggy in the turns but perfectly flyable "as was". Anyway, me being me, I cyano'd the epoxy board horn back into the T/E and flew it again Aileron response was now much crisper (of course) and so I went back to enjoy myself flattening the battery BTW If you have an alternative 'plane to fly, as you have, I'd recommend you do use that, and repair/replace the aileron on the LS, you should have two working spare servos in the other wing...... Regards Pete BARCS1702

Ok to tape up ailerons on a DLG?

Thanks for the head's up Paul, you saved me a load of grief . I will take my flying ceiling tile(Alula Trek) out for a spin instead.

Good result there MikeC! There were quite a few ‘0’ in that last round!

Ok to tape up ailerons on a DLG?

No, there is not enough dihedral to get the model to turn with rudder only. If you at pictures of a Elf DLG, you can see the amount you need for a rudder/elevator model.

But he already has John, it therefore must be you he's filtered out Stu.

Ok to tape up ailerons on a DLG?

Got a battered old DLG Longshot with a stripped aileron servo, it will require a bit work to replace, but in the mean time I was thinking of taking her out for a spin today... Is it ok to tape up the ailerons/ use ruder + elevator only? Cheers

Algebra 3m for sale or swap for a DLG

Also after a half decent bungee system for a swap etc, but would prefer a DLG. Excuse the poor picture quality.

Come on Bruce, tell us who it is!
  18. I have an Algebra 3m for sale. It is rudder/elevator (airbrakes not fitted) with 2x servos. I put a slight fold on the wing on a landing the other day, it is the top veneer that has the fold, a couple of ply spars + filler should do the trick. I am after a DLG 1.5m glider and willing to swap/put towards the costs. Otherwise I am selling for £50 collection only from London W3 7DN

Looking for a mouldy glider for slope

Hi Nic8 Its probably the fact you are a New recruit and haven't posted the number of posts required to qualify - 10 You must give us much more information than this........what type of mouldie? sport, F3J, F3F, F5J, scale, slope? Age, price offered, and condition? .....anything else .......all servos? etc Regards Pete BARCS1702

Guitarslingers as well as glider guiders

Nice work, I've been mending and playing guitars for longer than I've been flying, so they still out number my gliders, but only just. I've too many of both, of course, but it looks as though this might be a good place to advertise guitars as well as models when I need to have a clear out.

    Wanted mouldy glider

I’ve used the F3F courier service and can thoroughly recommend it. On the other hand I’ve had a model go missing in the post
  26. I like the metal pickguard, reminds me of an old schecter strat.

Do not worry too much about location as there is an effective delivery system in the form of the F3f "postal" system.
