  1. Past hour
  2. For a competition to be advertised on this site, albeit at the bottom of this page it is disappointing that no notice of cancellation was put on this page. A round trip of 170 miles and 3.5 hours driving is more than a little annoying and a total waste of time.
  3. Today
  4. Just to confirm I have entered, please add me to the list
  5. Entries close on 19th August - as shown in the first line of the first post. Given the low entry, I've had a look at the detail of the rules. Under BMFA rules (2.3.4), late entries are possible up to 1800 on the Saturday evening - double entry fee due. (£30) The entries close at that point to give time to do the matrix. If you enter late, the fee must be paid as it is by others who entered and paid on time, even if we don't fly. BMFA rule 2.3.11 says if two competitors enter and record a score, we have a valid competition. (8 required for league points) If we want to cancel and re-run at a later date (at least one month later), we can still only do this at the field on the day. otherwise, cancellation loses the event for the year. Only entries at the first event can fly in the re-run to qualify as National Champion.

F3F Personal Best (Pb) Times - Record Yours Here!

Super fast day on East Lomond hill, Fife yesterday, in our Scottish F3F Nationals. Managed a new pb of 33.70 with my Jedi. Would have been my first FTD as well until my (previously) good friend Mike, beat it with a 33.67 ............

    TJIRC Mini Q

I have just bought one myself. It was a birthday present. Good advice about the C of G in that the blurb on the Hyperflight page talks of a range of 10mm to 20mm for the CofG. What inspired me to get one was firstly the price and secondly I have seen Julian Bailey flying one up at Leek. His flew at some speed but he is an exceptional pilot. I have ummed and aahed about whether or not to fit a motor. Like you say it could come later, but I invested in some KST X08 servos because they can take up to 8 volts which would cope with a 2S Lipo if needed to upgrade to a motor. I did think about cheaper servos (I looked at the Bluebird servos on Hyperflight which are listed as an alternative) and have used those you mention but figured that it flies at such speed that I wondered about whether they would cope bearing in mind they are driving the ailerons. I ummed and aahed as there is a big difference in price. I will let you know how I go on.

    The English Open F3f 2019.

A very enjoyable full day 1 of racing at the English Open 2019 , Whitesheet. We were blessed with a fully dry day, Wind SW-WSW 4- 8 ms average throughout the day, broken sunshine, warm. Rounds 1&2 were flown with the wind blowing perfectly square onto the course. Shortly after the start of rd 3 the wind started swinging as had been forecast to a more WSW direction. With 10 pilots having flown & the swing becoming more pronounced, the comp committee of myself Graeme & JP decided that a course move was now required. With everyone doing their bit, this move of 100 meters was made with the very least amount of time possible being lost, a great team effort. A further 5 rounds were completed on this new course, making 7 rds in total. Day 1 results ;- please note;- in the event of any discrepancy to the below placings & scores with the published final spreadsheet, please note these positions & scores have been entered manually at 3.56 am, Yawn ! 1 Andy Burgoyne 5765.32 2 Graeme Mahoney 5465.87 3 mark redsell 5266.80 4 ian falconer 5225.44 5 john Philips 5224.71 6 jason bioletti 5085.35 7 david woods 5070.65 8 paul stubley 5036.23 9 tony livingstone 4989.20 10 brett larrett 4976 .31 11 mike evans 4971.31 12 mark treble 4903.66 13 nigel witchalls 4855.25 14 dave rumble 4741.25 15 stuart Wallace 4707.93 16 Mike shellim 4698.74 17 mark passingham 4655.37 18 graham hill 4537.54 19 les woods 4528.44 20 bruce Hudson 4485.26 21 mike bleathman 4217.11 22 john treble 3748.01 23 william fourie 3300.47 Team positions;- 1 bonkers ;- 15772.54 2 gifcof ;- 15680.51 3 the good the bad the ugly ;- 14590.73 4 not bonkers;- 14246.00 5 Whitesheet wizards;- 14048.44 6 vulture squad;- 13840.00 7 all stars;- 13350.41 Fastest time of the day, a 'Cracking' 36.99 ian falconer, flying his Shinto in round 2. The Saturday evening social at The George Innn Mere;- 13 of us shared in what is always a very enjoyable evening. We all enjoyed great food, great company sharing many stories from present & past. Day 2 weather forecast ;= This is looking very similar to day 1, another full days racing is anticipated. English Open Sponsor South Coast Sailplanes;- I am delighted that owner Peter Payne will as in previous years will again be on the slope for much of day 2. Peter will be justly presenting the English Open Trophies , these Peter sponsors. English Open final result. I will post this asap following my return home from the event. This may be however be quite late into the evening as it entails a 75 mile journey along the dreaded A303 & the bottle neck at Stonehenge. This journey can take up to 3 hrs on a Sunday evening. Stu, Whitesheet Competition Secretary.

How is this done? I can’t get to grips with the on screen controls, I’d love to be able to use my transmitter.

Frsky Taranis X9D Pluse special edition/T9hobbysport

I couldn't be bothered to upgrade because of the cheap hard plastic case. It just doesn't feel right ... way more work to be done there. Otherwise I like the look and think it is reasonable value for money

  21. Just been window shopping/dreaming for a new TX and came across the new Taranis Special Edition. Has upgraded Hall sensors on joysticks along with upgraded switches (and a DLG launch switch on left hand side top of TX), a menu wheel for faster screen navigation, increased range, removable antennae etc. Also uses the new *ACCESS protocol". https://www.t9hobbysport.com/taranis-x9d-plus-se-2019-2.4ghz-transmitter-taranis-x9d-plus-se-2019---night-blue Seems like a fair bit of bang for buck, but I am still concerned about the build quality from past experience with my X9D plus standard. To be fair most issues I had with my one where down to user heavy hands. I think that the new upgrades should address past weaknesses ( gimbals, antenna, internal components like gimbal springs etc). Case still looks like cheap plastic, but money has to be saved somewhere I guess. I hear it's early days for the new ACCESS protocol and first time buyers might be beat testers of sorts until any kinks are ironed out. I also hear we are going to be hit by a Extinction Level Event meteor soon... Also not sure if supports the Frsky G-RX6 receivers. What do you ladies and gentlemen think?

Wanted - 2 standard size servos

Hi SP A lot of the searches on Google end up revealing unusual results - the secret, for me anyway, is to remove any word from the search that could be mistaken or misconstrued.......for example, your search shouldn't have been for "Algebra spoilers" as there are no such things! Dick Edmonds NEVER suggested you fit proprietary airbrakes to your Algebra.....and especially not "spoilers" Is it possible you had been looking forward to your next sip of the "instant amnesia" in a glass, rather than thinking if your search could be misconstrued? No? Keep trying, you'll get it one day........a good friend of mine says he always uses the search parameters that his 10 year old eldest grandson would use Never fails!! Regards Pete BARCS1702

    2nd hand market, in general

Hi SP NO, that's why the Solius is in the loft.....I quite simply CAN'T put it together one handed These days my first question to any seller is "How is the (four-servo) wing attached to the fuselage?" If they say "You just push the "D" connector (or MPX "greenie") on the wing into the "D" connector (or greenie) on the fuselage" it's a 95% chance I'll buy whatever the plane is, sight unseen Hey ho! Does that have the same wing attachment arrangement? Once spoilt by the simplicity of the Cularis my Radian Pro and several other full house gliders never got a look in!
