  2. This event will run on the two days following the "Come and Try" event, so that's Easter Saturday and Sunday. Details 30-31st March 2024 All are welcome. Newcomers encouraged. If you can launch and land, safely and consistently then please consider entering and discovering the joys of competition! Plenty of help will be available with explanations of tasks etc on the day. As usual, camping will be available at the published rates. There will be a BBQ Saturday night (bring your own meat etc), and possibly Friday night too if there is demand. Expect access to the field to be available from 09:00 am for a 09:45 briefing and prompt 10:00 start. The gate will be open at the start of the day for competitors to drive onto the field. Then it will be locked again. It can be opened again during the day if competitors need to drive in and out, time permitting. Spectators are welcome, but unless they want to stay all day like competitors, will need to park on the right along the slip road just off the main road.   13. 16 April CANCELLED - field waterlogged again. CD Bob Ryan inspected today and the field is not going to be usable Sunday. Sorry we're having to cancel for a second time. Not sure whether we can managed a reserve reserve date - will consult. Next currently-scheduled KIC comp is Glider 1 (multilaunch) at SADMAC Sunday May 7. Details Contest originally scheduled for 2 April was cancelled and we're now instead using the 16 April reserve date. This is an open competition and non-Kent Interclub club members are very welcome (entry fee £5 for non KIC members). The event will run to F5J rules with UK variations. Results will count for the BMFA F5J League. CD on the day: Bob Ryan. Gliderscore / queries: tba Gliderscore eScoring will be used - scores submitted via smart phones. No problem if you are not familiar with the system or don’t have a smartphone – help readily available on the field. We want to have a full day's flying so please check in 09:30 latest and be ready for Pilots Briefing at 09:45 with the competition starting at 10:00 sharp. To enter Please ‘Reply’ to this topic no later than 6pm Friday 14 April. At the junction of Common Lane and Rye Street, go north for 150 metres on the farm track, The field entrance is on the right. Please remember to shut the gate on entry and exit. CD Bob Ryan did a pitch inspection this morning and decided the it was going to be too wet - then confirmed by a request from the Gravesend Chairman to avoid damage by postponing the comp. Sorry (especially to the Tonbridge guys who have now had two cancellations for the same day.) Reserve date 16 April will be used - same venue.
