Bwlch - Potentially in lockdown from 18.00 17/09/20 ??
groom_k posted a topic in Slope & Dynamic Soaring
Hi There Just following the recent news that Rhondda Cynon Taf is to go into lockdown from 18.00 on 17/09/20 (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-54093100). I fully appreciate that the first priority must be peoples safety. From what I can see from maps this means that the Bwlch effectively goes into lockdown as it's on the county boundary? Would welcome any local knowledge about the Bwlch being on the boundary and therefore in lockdown. Thanks in advance Keith -

Hello I try to come this year to Wales and/or Cornwall for slope soaring, in the end of october. It will be first time for me in Wales, because of familiy matters it is not possible for me to come earlier. How's weather in Wales at this time, ugly or acceptable? I like strong winds but not too much rain. I found many articles about the well known hills like Wrecker etc. But does anyone knows this hill: Penn Cerrig-culch Crug Hywel near Bwlch? This site seems to be perfect for slope soaring: Bowls and edges to nearly every direction. Is it flyable? I searched for some more infomation

There will be a new slope soaring event at the Bwlch, S Wales being held over the weekend of June 10th & 11th. I created the following teaser of a video and popped it on YouTube and various Facebook groups, and the response has been amazing. The idea is that like minded glider guiders come along to The Bwlch for a weekend of informal flying on a "Fly for Fun" basis. It doesn't matter if you fly foamies, crunchies, mouldies, F3F, scale, PSS, aerobats or sport models, all are welcome. The feedback I have received already has been amazing from glider guiders all over the UK and, a Eu

Everyone is welcome to come along, you do not have to be a member of the BMFA but you do need to have BMFA insurance to fly.
