Hi ensemble, ouf, that was heavy ! Short story: I met this summer Dave Woods, flying Arestis at Bopeep. There where few other guys also (Greg Lewis? am not sure about the names). Beside watching the nice aerobatic flying, Dave was using a device to track his plane in flight and record videos: the Soloshot2. Was very tempted to buy one, but (fortunately) they are a little difficult to find. So I did wait and wait and wait and ... discovered just yesterday that the company is making preorders for the Soloshot3, at 69% of the final price, until 15 October. So temptation won! I ordered one. Nice features of the new one are a smaller and lighter transmitter unit and a dedicated videocam with 4K (and 1080 at 120fps!) and 65x optical zoom. From another perspective I could do one myself, using an autopilot, as I already did a tracking antenna for FPV and did use it as a tracking videocam also, about five years ago. But the idea to invest a lot of time to obtain an almost working device, with some bric-à-brac, is out of question. I prefer to invest my time in gliders development and build. The heaviest part is that I have now to wait until Spring 2016 ... A doubt is anyway raising: probably the videos taken with the Soloshot will tend to be all the same style, without the human imperfection touch. Happy then, no more jumping around stabilization frame. And happy my son, who will no more be tortured with a videocam, from daddy who needs videos of his tests. Best regards, Ric
