I have just about finished my red NXT, but have bench flown my orange one and Gavin's yellow one :-) Hoping for acceptable flying weather on Sunday! Looks like it will come out at about 235-240g I may do a build thread when I build the orange one.

Launched my NXT this morning and the elevator servo stopped working (KST v3 only a few months old). Had been flying OK for around 40 minutes so not the "boot" issue. Launched and model looped behind me with no elevator control - was quite a wide lazy loop. Pulled full flaps and model went straight in vertically pretty hard. Long grass and soft ground after all the rain saved me from major damage. Nose was in the ground a good 2 inches. On inspection everything worked apart from the elevator servo. Due to the thin gauge piano wire - the ballast had shot forward on impact and stripped the servos from the side wall. Annoyingly at home - retesting everything the elevator servo is now working (sounds rough though). Checked for poor connections but all good. Battery fine. Not had much luck with KST's - think its time to bin these version 3's and try the 5's. Still quite a bit of strength in the fuselage but need to sort the cracks and add strength. Should I be repairing inside or outside with a carbon patch? I can't get inside to area 1 and don't want to patch outside as will affect wing seat area? The crack at 3 running down the side of the fuse is also too far for inside for me to tackle easily? The rear wing bolt pulled through the wing. Looks to be a bit of a cavity which i plan to fill with epoxy and maybe add a washer to create a platform for wing bolt? The forward bolt takes most of the force? Should I be cutting a section of skin out to inspect or reinforce some how? I notice a large section of the elevator hinge failed. Difficult to know whether this was pre or post crash. Pretty straight forward for someone with more experience - pointers appreciated.
