I have always been an admirer of the Vampire F3B since it first hit the scene back in 2010, but never had the pleasure of owning one. Then last year while surfing the net, I read that an “NG” variant had been released with the objective being a more defined slope discipline design. Temptation got the better of me and I placed my order just before Xmas. Quoted order to delivery was 4 – 6 weeks, and taking a week out for the festive break it arrived on time. I opted for an empty airframe, protective wing / tailplane covers and brass ballast set (1.5kg total in wing). The standard F3F/DS layup is double carbon 2 x 160g. Wing servo wiring harness is pre-installed with MPX connector “plug in” system at wing/fus joint. With shipping into the UK it came in at 1325 euro, which appears to me to be very competitive at the moment. All looks very nicely made and I am looking forward to the install (…..before any of my Midland buddies take the p!$$ on my build time history, I promise to have it in the air this year! ). Install will be KST DS225MG in the wing driving the latest servorahmen IDS kits, and KST DS215MG in the fus. I’m hoping that the flying characteristics will make it an interesting F3F pairing with my PB1 A few pics to go with..........
