  1. Hi guys Wales winter league will be the third Sunday in the month, as per normal. Dates below are provisional as I need to make sure that they don't clash with anything the SWSA guys are doing. 18th November (Sat) 16th December 20st January 17th February 17th March Regards Joel
  2. Hello I try to come this year to Wales and/or Cornwall for slope soaring, in the end of october. It will be first time for me in Wales, because of familiy matters it is not possible for me to come earlier. How's weather in Wales at this time, ugly or acceptable? I like strong winds but not too much rain. I found many articles about the well known hills like Wrecker etc. But does anyone knows this hill: Penn Cerrig-culch Crug Hywel near Bwlch? This site seems to be perfect for slope soaring: Bowls and edges to nearly every direction. Is it flyable? I searched for some more infomation but can't find anything. Thanks for your kind help!
  3. With the winter leagues now complete.. it's time to get ready for Champion of Champions 2018! Could all qualifying pilots please PM me to let me know if you are willing and able to attend or not ASAP. With the Welsh League not running due to poor weather, those who have entered the Welsh winter league are also invited to attend. The qualifying pilots from each league are: North: Steve Haley, Greg Dakin, Rich Bago, Mark Treble, Mark Passingham South: Mike Shellim, Tony Livingstone, Ian Falconer, Stuart Wallace, Graeme Mahoney Midlands: Mike Evans, Andy Burgoyne, Scott Ravenscroft, Paul Stubley, Brett Larrett Scotland: Ewan Maxwell, Peter Gunning, Dave Watson, Mike McCracken

    Bwlchfest 2017

There will be a new slope soaring event at the Bwlch, S Wales being held over the weekend of June 10th & 11th. I created the following teaser of a video and popped it on YouTube and various Facebook groups, and the response has been amazing. The idea is that like minded glider guiders come along to The Bwlch for a weekend of informal flying on a "Fly for Fun" basis. It doesn't matter if you fly foamies, crunchies, mouldies, F3F, scale, PSS, aerobats or sport models, all are welcome. The feedback I have received already has been amazing from glider guiders all over the UK and, a European contingent from Germany and Slovenia are already making plans to attend this event, including a guy I know from Germany who writes for a aero modelling magazine there called Aufwind, and a piece about this event will appear in this magazine, probably in February . So this could become a truly international event. Details will be updated regularly on my BLOG and also on the Facebook group page, Slope Soaring in Wales. We hope to see you there.
