BMFA League Reserve 2 will take place on Sunday 16th September at Whitesheet. In the event of an unfavourable wind direction, Stu has also managed to procure the use of the Rifle Range slope by kind permission of the Avon hang gliding & paragliding club which is not normally open to model flyers. We also have an option to run the competition at the Bwlch as a last resort if the wind direction is unsupported by any of the above slopes. Weather call and slope decision will be made on the evening of Friday 14th. Entry for the competition will open on Wednesday 5th S

Update 13/5/17 As I will be busy all day tomorrow (Frome Chess Congress if anyone wants to come and spectate ;-) ) where I won't have access to the internet, I have decided to make the weather call for Sunday now. Crazy talk. It's ON! The weather looks suitably good for a jolly nice day's flying at Whitesheet, with a gentle to moderate SW breeze forecast. Some wet stuff may make an appearance later in the afternoon, but I wouldn't be too concerned about this if you would like to come along and have a fly. Fingers crossed for a good inaugural event! cheers, Chris

Dear flyers at Whitesheet and those who visit, Please note that there has now been a rule change to the flying restrictions at Whitesheet Hill. Many of you will have flown at this wonderful site in Wiltshire (and may be members of the club) and will know that for most of its life, the site has been for unpowered models only. In 2009 a trial was started to allow electric power to be used for height gain only. Electric models in general terms were not permitted. Following this successful trial period of many years, the club has now ratified changes to the club rules to allow

All, With no small regret, their will not be an English Open F3f competition held this year at Whitesheet Radio Flying club. Unfortunately (or perhaps just the opposite!) there are so many f3f events planned for 2016 that jiggling the calendar along with other club comps, Scale events and general national events (such as the BMFA Power Nats etc) provided no solution. The committee felt that tying to shoe-horn the event in would either pull flyers away from other great competitions, or would be poorly attended and therefore not fitting for such a great event that has run so well in th
