Screen layout has changed for ipad?

I have started getting an info panel down the right side when I'm viewing a thread - the posts used to be full width.  I'm fairly sure this is new - can I turn it off?

Its new setting that I hadn't noticed. Came with the last update. Its a topic summary for long topics. It shows on topics that have 3 pages of posts or more.

I have turned it off.
