Important Covid Advice:

Competition will be paperless using Gliderscore smart phone app.  Please print off your own blank score card

Bring gloves and sanitiser to the event in case gates need to be opened/shut.  Do not touch landing tapes, use feet to move tapes relative to front of model after landing.  Strictly observe the 2m distancing rule.  Ensure you follow latest Gov.uk guidelines in respect to washing hands, touching face and hand hygiene.

Location:

From A2 at Bapchild, turn left (right if approaching from Faversham) into Hempstead lane. Go left at the next road through Tong Mill and continue past the church then the golf club and turn right at the next junction, Blacketts Road. Continue along road until you reach the farm entrance gate.

The nearest postcode is ME9 9AU or Using What3Words (phone app) with location headers.marshes.arch

Entrance to the farm is by electronically controlled gates, which requires a SADMAC member to open. Please call 077393 20806 or 07941 814019 and we will open the gates remotely.

Additional Info:

The rules are a variant of BARCS Multi-launch but, for Electric launch gliders, the variant is slightly different from last year. As before, Electric launch gliders must be fitted with an AMRT (height limiter) which cuts the motor at 30 secs and records the launch height. Electric launch height remains at 175m but there will now be a penalty of 3 pts per metre for Electric launches exceeding it.   Most pilots will want to set AMRTs to cut a little below 175m. It is fine instead to use F5J firmware and cut the motor manually.

A minimum of 4 rounds and a maximum of 6 rounds will be flown

Team Bloobirds will be there with Greg Hayfield, Iain Stingemore, with winch launched gliders and Mike Connell with an electric launched glider. I will bring both and make a decision in the day which to use.

  • Terry changed the title to Kent Interclub Glider1 Multi-launch 9th May 2021 - CANCELLED

Kent Interclub Glider 1 Competition at SADMAC's Sittingbourne field on the 9th May has been Cancelled due to poor weather forecast.   We have looked at a number of weather forecast and all of them predict high winds.   Therefore we have decided to postpone the competition until next Sunday, 16th May at the same location and hope for better weather.  I will start a new thread for this competition.
