Having just seen the scores, I take back my comments on Mark Treble's timing system - he seems to have built in a software bug  that has put him in second place!  (Well done Mark- keep up the good flying :)).

Simon

I think Mark would call that a "feature" rather than a "bug"      8-)

Share your thoughts entirely Les, a superb three days of racing entertainment.

Many congrats to Peter, Knewt and Simon on some epic flying across good, bad and indifferent conditions - and of course a hearty pat on the back to Mike Shellim for a beautifully flown 35.xx and FTD.

Lots of terrific flights over the weekend, but my personal favourite was Andy B's honking 37.xx in monster Levisham air......with a very familiar Radical Pro (ahem).

Excellent organisation from Jon E, Mark T, Ronnie and Frankie H - many thanks to you guys for all your hard work and effort!

Cheers,

Greg

Day3 was nearly going to confound the weather forecast by starting with a 25mph southerly wind with only the slightest hint of rain. But the rain gods were just waiting for us to set up the course and start Round 12. After restarting the round three times( !!! ) we finally managed to complete just the one round before the declared end of day.

This however didn't affect the 3 top places, so after 12 Rounds over three days with 33 pilots, congratulations must go to Peter Kowalski for his convincing win, Kevin Newton for splendid second place, and Simon Thornton, hard on their heels, in third.

Fastest time of the weekend went to Mike Shellim's 35.17 with his unapproachable STING.

Team prize went to Team GIFCOF, consisting of Graham Mahoney,Tony Livingstone and Martin Drewett.

Well done guys!

Other positions were :-

4    Greg Dakin    9548.85
5    John Philips    9437.60
6    Martin Newnham    9416.09

11    Mike Evans    8922.79
12    Peter Gunning    8897.66
13    Mike Shellim    8890.53

Many thanks to Mark Treble for CD'ing, and for producing some great race software to run on Android devices. His female synthesised voice commands were a real hoot, especially her mispronunciation of Richard Bagoogle!

Great job done by the entertainments duo of Ronnie Lampe and Frank Hulton, whose other duties ranged from porters, launchers, and buzzer supremeo's.

Hope you all had a great weekend
Regards
Jon

George Young

Thanks to Jon and his band of helpers for organising a brilliant weekend.

Great to meet up with old friends and new. Plenty of excellent flying to watch and lots of banter. I confess was exhausted when I got to bed after three busy days!

I managed to avoid the worst of the variability and I am still smiling at my final placing :)

What a great weekend I have never flown Levisham before but herd various horror stories. Looking at the slope, I thought looks normal enough, what could possibly go wrong... Two big flicks totally out of the blue at base B later, respect was was duly given.

exellent organisation, superb timing gear Mark

congrats to the top 3

i have some good photos I shall upload tonight

Another great weekend in North Yorkshire. Thanks to Jon, Mark, Ronnie and Frank for great work.

Saturday was a really memorable day, F3F in t-shirts all day and Levisham serving up lovely consistent air as always

Thanks to the Jon, Mark, Ronnie and Frank to make this Eurotour competition happen. And even to organize an amazing summer day for Saturday. :-) Even on the Ferry Deck taking a sun bath was possible on Sunday evening.

Will see you sooner or later... A good summer time to all of you!

"You were lucky".

"When I were a lad

we used to think  nothing of MarkR flying 31sec when the rest of us were doing 75's"

In fact I think we all were lucky this Saturday, Levisham didn't quite live up to its recent past with a wind more W than the prevelent SW that many comps seem to have suffered with of late.

37 to 55 with very occasion 60 is tight.

It is a lovely slope but it can get a little cantankerous.
