The wife asked me what I was doing this weekend last night...

Fair to say I am glad I will be getting out of the house now 🤯

Forecast is looking up anyway 👍

Will there be a break so we can swear allegiance to the King? 🤣

Forecast for tomorrow is looking good for the morning then rain coming in late afternoon.

Meet time will be 9am at the car park, and we will try to get as many rounds in as possible before the weather goes off as Sunday might not be so good.

If you haven't paid your entry fee yet, then please pay before the end of today if you are still intending to come.

Thanks.

I thought it would be showers all day but it didn't rain at all. Twelve rounds, in variable air.

Is there a meet time in the morning for more fun 🤪 I was late today and don’t want to miss any thing exciting in the car park 👍

Thanks to John and Mark for running the competition today. The conditions might have been variable but the enjoyment factor was high 👍👍

A terrific weekend in many respects. The weather forecast was never looking good for either day,
but as Saturday looked to have the better prospects, we agreed to get as many rounds on day one even if that meant a late finish.

A good move as it turned out, and a rather variable 12 rounds were achieved before the wind swung too far off the course to make further flying possible.  The dreaded rain which was 90% certain according to the Met Office just didn't show, and the South bowl entertained us with a thermal induced lottery for the best part of the day.

Sunday dawned bright and rain free but absolutely flat calm. Forecasts were for 1mph winds from any direction you could wish to choose for the remainder of the day.
An early decision was taken  to call it off and allow those with a long journey to head for home.

Many thanks to all for making the effort and for the good humour throughout. A difficult competition to call, but Mike Evans proved to be the eventual winner, with Mark Redsell in second, and John Phillips, despite a rather swollen eye, in third.
FTD went the Mike E with a 38.35 in R2.

So the full results, as published earlier were :-

1 Mike Evans  9814.20
2 Mark Redsell 9789.62
3 John Phillips  9752.29
4 Mike Shellim 9548.13
5 Peter Gunning 9199.99
6 Dave Demott 9139.10
7 Leslie Wood 9127.70
8 Andy Burgoyne 8893.90
9 Jon Edison 8884.29
10 Dave Watson 8856.12
11 Bruce Hudson 8771.68
12 Paul Stubley  8634.87
13 Mark Treble 8577.53
14 Robert Carson 7076.64

A full breakdown to follow.

A great weekend, and despite an over-spiced Curry on the Saturday night in Whitby, some great company  to boot.
Many thanks to a rather less than well Mark Treble for all his hard work in organising the weekend and sourcing the Trophies.

Regards to all
Jon

Well I had a lovely Saturday, and Liz has had a lovely day at the sea side today.

Win, win, and a win. 😂

What's not to like.

Thanks to the team. Jon & Mark doing a sterling job as usual.

Thanks to Jon & Mark for a very slick event. I think you maximised the flying time really well.

Well done to the top 3, it was a tough one to keep your head in the game when you weren't getting good air!

Would be interested to see the spreadsheet at some point, I suspect I was pretty near to last after 4 rounds of scores in the 700's...
