Perhaps it is about time we found the oldest Barcs members, flying and retired from. Anybody know? Any ninety year olds I wonder?

The Conquest first appeared in the December 1960 Aeromodeller, featured in 'Trade News' and on the back cover.

Seven shillings and eleven pence = 39.6p. (new pence).  A pint of beer was 10p and a gallon of petrol was 57p

Built a Caprice (Conquest sister ship?)  a few years ago, amazing test glide.... but the design seems to be a thermal magnet!  First tow it went out of sight to never be seen again going up at a rate of knots under a big cloud in an awestruck/annoying manner. Fit a Dethermaliser or have another think about some micro RC gear for rudder maybe? Not that a DT made any difference to mine!

A bit of modern cheating - Oralight trans white - its light - looks a bit like tissue - far easier & less messy

Oracover Ferrari red for the fus & tail - my original one was Humbrol red enamel. Fun getting it to go neatly around the canopy. I think part of the appeal of the Conquest is that the nose & canopy looks plausibly scale-like.

Ready to balance & fly - and colour trim.

Don’t forget the pilot, his seat, and the instrument panel, Phil!
