Andy Shutt Posted March 25 Share Posted March 25 Hello, I will be taking a week just to the west of Oxford and was thinking about taking a few slopers in the car, are there any good slopes near to Oxford that would make it worth taking the models with me. Phil.Taylor Posted March 25 Share Posted March 25 Nearest to Oxford, I've heard of people flying from Wittenham Clumps - but looking at the map, dont expect much lift there ! https://www.discoveringbritain.org/activities/south-east-england/trails/wittenham-trail.html Slopes I have flown are: South West of Oxford towards Swindon theres the famous Uffington White Horse - if you can still fly there - NW/NNW wind into the bowl - pretty spot but always busy with walkers/sightseers - National Trust South of Oxford & Newbury theres good slopes at Kingsclere "Watership Down" N,NE,NW - and Beacon Hill off the A34 (big hike up) N,E,SW Phil.
