Kingmax servos and Altis V4+ now in stock!

I've tried using the KINGMAX CLS0512W in one of my Wyverns. The servorama frames were a little disappointing for 8mm servos, no bearing support in the frame. Ian

F5 L (RES) contest this bank holiday!

I spoke with Richard Harris a couple of months ago re FAI bungees as he was trying to co-ordinate some Kent inter club interest in FxRES. Have a word and see if there is any progress there in obtaining them for the south. I only know of the BARCS set of 6x, now held at Buckminster, a set at the Aylesbury club and Lawrence with last years set here in Shropshire. John M

F5 L (RES) contest this bank holiday!

Thanks John M & Pete for your responses. As a result, we are looking at the possibility of F3L too but the grass may be a bit long, and the organisation & setting out becomes more complicated with low total numbers of participants! Paul Wainwright is the main driver for this comp, and thanks go to him for being prepared to organise the field end of things. Some volunteers to help, and numbers interested in including F3L would be good to know; and availability of FIA bungees. Neil P
  14. Well Done Mark R, looks like a good comp, shame I couldn’t be there, but sunning myself in Cyprus! Always a Big thanks to Mark T and anyone else involved in keeping thing running, a sometimes difficult task. Hope to catch up with you all soon Yamas

Would love to come but a 3.30 to 4.00 hour drive each way is sadly is too far for me. Oh and I've only got a F3L model at the moment doesn't help either. Good luck with it, hope you get enough people and of course the weather. John M

No chance of F3L too if we bring our own FAI-standard bungees? Nice to see a contest in the southeast in any case!

  20. Kent Interclub Glider 2 Multi-launch Competition on 11th May 2024 at SADMAC' Field. Please Note: This Competition is being run on a SATURDAY - 11TH MAY 2024 You are invited to Kent Interclub Glider 2 Multi-launch competition to be held on 11th May 2024, CD on the day to be Terry Letchford. This is an open competition and non-Kent Interclub club members are very welcome (entry fee £5). For KIC flyers only – note that this competition will also use the scoring for the 2024 Kent Cup. We want to have a full day's flying so please check in 09:30 latest and be ready for Pilots Briefing at 09:45 with the competition starting at 10:00 sharp. To enter, please click on Reply to this topic no later than 6pm Thursday 9th May with model class, and frequency if not 2.4 (Glider, Electric, Open, 100" etc) so a matrix can be set up. A final decision to confirm or cancel depending on the weather will be posted here by 12 noon on Friday 10th May. (Please note that entrants need to check here and will not be emailed about cancellation.) Location: From A2 at Bapchild, turn left (right if approaching from Faversham) into Hempstead lane. Go left at the next road through Tong Mill and continue past the church then the golf club and turn right at the next junction, Blacketts Road. Continue along road until you reach the farm entrance gate. The nearest postcode is ME9 9AU or Using What3Words (phone app) with location headers.marshes.arch Entrance to the farm is by electronically controlled gates, which requires a SADMAC member to open. Please call 077393 20806 or 07941 814019 and we will open the gates remotely. Additional Info: The rules are a variant of BARCS Multi-launch but, for Electric launch gliders. As before, Electric launch gliders must be fitted with an AMRT (height limiter) which cuts the motor at 30 secs and records the launch height. Electric launch height remains at 175m but there will now be a penalty of 3 pts per metre for Electric launches exceeding it. Most pilots will want to set AMRTs to cut a little below 175m. It is fine instead to use F5J firmware and cut the motor manually. This event will be using Gliderscore eScoring via smart phones. We will print and issue a score record card for you to record your round scores and set up your phones via QR matrix A minimum of 4 rounds and a maximum of 6 rounds will be flown Disciplines: Glider, Electric, Open, 100”

F5 L (RES) contest this bank holiday!

That makes 5 interested so far Neil Paul Pete John Bob __________ so close… Must be a few more, but maybe they still haven’t come out of hibernation because of the weather so far this year!
  22. Really great to get a decent amount of flying in. Yesterday was particularly good with fairly consistent air, today was typically variable (for ice cream slope) making it feel like a damage limitation exercise. Thankfully not too bad for me but one or two got more than their fair share of ropey air. Great to see everyone on the hill though, and big thanks to Mark T and Graeme for keeping things going in occasionally tricky conditions

  24. As the forecast predicted, it was a nice sunny day today with a good north westerly blow. Kingmax servos and Altis V4+ now in stock!

I already use the C507, I was thinking along the lines of KM1203MD, except 10mm wide. The lugs are wrong on the C507.

Kingmax servos and Altis V4+ now in stock!

Do you think the C507 would suit the Wyvern for aileron servos. I read a 10mm wing servo is really tight. If so, any chance of getting a standard or heavy duty IDS frame kit, rather than the 'foam' kit?
